IT & GIS
Information Technology Mission
The Department of Information Technology (IT) aligns the county's IT infrastructure and systems to the business needs of the county departments. We provide the network infrastructure, collaborate with departments, identify cost saving business processes, and improve access to county information and services. IT is comprised of three divisions, Network, Applications, and GIS, whom work together to provide these services.
The Information Technology department is responsible for all forms of technology. Some of which are computers and servers, telephones systems, audio visual systems, network infrastructure, wireless systems, websites, software, surplus equipment and service to it's users.
Moore County Geospatial Information Services (GIS) provides analysis and mapping services for all county departments and citizens. GIS mapping enables users to review and display data both spatially and analytically. Moore County GIS has a partnership with all municipalities to provide addresses county wide, for E-911 purposes. GIS is more than just maps!
GIS provides a wide range of services to citizens and county departments. We provide data analytics, map creation, large format printing, addressing and roads. Our main mission is to provide a better understanding of data, in a visual and spatial format.
